Jer and I were able to get away for a short hunting weekend a couple of weeks ago. Hunting has been a passion of mine since I started my freshman year of high school, and we haven't been able to go in awhile. Jer and I drove 7 hours to get here to Southeastern Oregon to hunt with my Dad and a couple of his buddies. We have not had that much time to talk uninterrupted in years.

Clackamas County Fair 2011

We went to the Clackamas County Fair with my Mom a couple days after we went to the Clark County Fair. The girls still loved it, but Clackamas had a butterfly garden that the girls loved.

We continued with a tradition and the four of us headed off to the Clark County fair. We had a great time going on some rides and the girls loved the animals. It was an overcast cool day which was perfect weather for standing in the lines.

So on August 3rd, our baby girl turned 2. We can hardly believe how quickly the last year has gone by. She has blossomed into such a beautiful girl and amazes us more each day. Her vocabulary is enormous and she is saying 10+ word sentences. She is such a joyful addition to our family, we can't imagine life without out "Au-boo" baby. We had a family and buddy party for her at Happy Valley splash park the Saturday before her birthday and then the four of us celebrated on her actual birthday. Enjoy the pics from our festivities.

Maui Vacation!!!

That's right our family finally was able to get away for a fabulous vaction to Maui with our good friends the Collins. We stayed in a condo in Kihei with Neil, Nelia and there two boys Kellen and Kaleb for a whole week. It was so much fun and so refreshing to be away from the daily grind. Jer has been working 6 days a week for almost a year and a half, and we haven't really had more than one day off together as a family for over a year. The girls did amazing, the weather and food was fabulous and the company was great. I wish that we were still there. I almost went to tour their hospital and inquire about nursing jobs. :) Here is a ridiculously long slide show of pics. If you click on it, it should enlarge. Enjoy!

Gracie just finished up her first round of summer swim lessons at Barlow High School. She had done preschool level one last year, and wasn't quite ready to move up, so she repeated it again this year and did really well. She passed and will move on to preschool level two, for her next session.

Gracie enjoyed her first "organized" team sport this year. She had a great time playing with all of her "boy buddies" on her indoor soccer team. I am just thankful with our rainy weather that the games were indoors. Here are some more pics from the end of the season.

Sunny Days have been really hard to come by this year. It seems like they are few and far between. Any moment we get to be outside, we have tried to take advantage of. We exscaped to the fire station park to get some much needed vitamin-D.

AWANA's Cubbies Sports Night

At Cubbies a few weeks back the theme was sports night. I usually work Wednesday nights so Jer is left to get dinner ready and get Gracie to AWANA's by 6:45. Well he had fun dressing Gracie up as a football player for sports night. When he took her to class the leader said "wow she sure looks sporty." Jer was surprised to find out that usually only the older kids get dressed up on theme nights. Gracie didn't care and had fun looking like a football player.

Mommy's Girls Night Out

A few weeks back, I was able to get together with a couple girls from Nursing School. We went out to dinner and had a great time catching up. It is hard to believe that it has been almost 8 years since we graduated. It was so much fun to see everyone and hear other nursing stories. Hopefully we won't wait so long to all get together next time!

Em and Gavin took the girls and I to lunch at Chuck E. Cheeses. I haven't been there in years and it has really changed. The girls loved riding on the rides, playing the video games, eating pizza, and collecting tickets. Aubrey came home with a basketball and Gracie picked out a slinky. Gracie started playing indoor soccer this spring. Pappy Ron is her coach (Isaiah's Pappy) who also coached Jer and I in middle school. Kind of Crazy. She loves to play and is working on her kicking. She started out doing a run hop kick thing anytime she went for the ball, but now can kind of kick it. She is having a blast and it is a ton of fun to watch!

We celebrated on Christmas Eve this year because I had to work Christmas day. We woke up with the girls and pretended it was Christmas Morning and opened up presents and had a blast. Later that afternoon we met up with Jer's mom's side of the family and had a open house get together. We finished up the night meeting up with my family for traditional Chinese dinner and opened presents at Em and Gavin's house. It was a wonderful whirlwind day. Jer and the girls came to visit me at work Christmas day and then spent the day celebrating with his family. I was quite bummed to miss out on the festivities and we unfortunately didn't get any pics from Christmas day :(

So Gracie came home from Jer's Mom's Wednesday Womens biblestudy at church looking a little different. Gracie's kids class did a little Christmas performance for the Women's ministry brunch and after the performance they decorated the kiddos. Almost looks like she has the measles. :)

Pumpkin Patch 2010

We finally were able to go to Liepolds Farms this last Sunday. It has been super hard getting there this year since Jer is working 6 days a week and he gets home from work after the pumpkin patch closes. So we prayed on Sunday that we could go and not get entirely soaked, and God answered our prayer and we stayed dry. We timed it perfectly between showers, we got in, got pumpkins and a few pics and got out before it poured some more. It was pretty windy and cold but we braved the weather to create some memories with the whole fam. We brought Roxy too but only got her out of the car at the end of the trip for a quick pic so she wouldn't get covered in mud. As you can see in the pics Gracie is slightly distracted by the other people,(it was crazy busy crummy weather and all) so she had a hard time focusing on us while we were taking pictures. Here is what we were able to capture.

Oh my goodness it is so hard to believe that my baby is one!!! This year has truly flown by. We have been so blessed by the Lord with such a happy baby, that is so mellow, easy going, adorable, sweet, tough, fearless, loving and funny. We had a great time celebrating with our families and had a great dinner out at Red Robin (Gracie's choice). She really enjoyed her first cupcake and loved all of her presents, although Gracie had a lot more fun opening them than Aubrey did. Aubrey had really started walking a lot. She is pretty unsteady but is more adventurous with trying. Here are a bunch of pictures from the night.

For two weeks Gracie did swim lessons at Barlow high school. She had a really fun time in the water, but had two scary episodes where she went under and had to be quickly helped out. Our goal is to get her more comfortable with the water and if she eventually wants to swim competitively great, but we atleast want her to be safe in the pool. Here is a slide show of pics poolside

4th of July Camping and Beach Trip

Our lives have been a little crazy recently. Jer has been working 6 days a week and our family time with the four of us together has decreased quite a bit. Over 4th of July weekend we had the opportunity to get out of town and have a short but much needed vacation. We left Friday night and headed to Detroit Lake to camp with our Bible study friends. It was the first time that either of the girls had been camping and we had a lot of fun. We went boating and Gracie even got pulled on an inner-tube for the first time. She did amazing. We roasted marshmallows, ate hot dogs, played dominoes and relaxed. We camped for two nights and then packed everything up and headed to the beach to meet Jer's parents and his older brother Ben and his family for a night in Depot Bay. We were able to play on the beach in the sun and go swimming at the pool. It made for a lot of driving over four days and was kind of a whirlwind weekend but so nice to get away. Here is a slide show of pictures from the trip.

Summer is finally here and it seemed to take forever this year. I am so glad for a break from the rain, the sun is so refreshing and glorious!!! Gracie went to VBS at Good Shepherd this last week and had a great time. Each night she came home with her face painted so I thought I would share the 3 that I took pictures of....

10 months old

It is so hard to believe that Aubrey is 10 months old. She really has grown leaps and bounds this last month. We finally got a clean bill of health today at the doctors office. Her ear infections are finally gone and she is feeling a lot better. She has finally started talking. She says mama, dada, hi and ba ba, and ya ya. We think she is trying to say Gracie too, but hasn't quite mastered that yet. She is moving and getting around the house quickly and has figured out how to go up some stairs now too. Aubrey like to put her fingers in her mouth after each bite of baby food we give her. She would much rather feed herself finger foods, so I guess this is her way of feeding helping.

We took the girls for a bike ride in the bike trailer this weekend. It was Aubrey's first ride and overall she did pretty well. She just had a bit of a hard time sitting up straight in the trailer.

In other notes, Aubrey is now on her third antibiotic for her ear infections. We are praying that this one will finally kick the infection and she (we) will all start sleeping a little better.

For mothers day Gracie picked out flowers for both of her Grandmas and helped them plant them. She got all decked out in her gardening outfit from my Aunt Karen. She isn't too keen yet on getting her hands dirty but had fun with the project.

9 Months Old

Aubrey has been a little under the weather these last two weeks so hence the reason for the delay in posting pictures. She started out with a fever a week and a half ago and it has developed into a bad cold and cough. To top it all off she is teething too. Three more teeth could be busting through her poor little gums any day. Gracie woke up with a fever today too, so we might be in for another round of sickness :( We were able to get a 9 month pic despite Aubrey feeling a bit out of it.

9 months

This is Aubs with her Great Grandpa McKibben.

And this one is with Great Grandma McKibben too. They came down for a quick visit a week and a half ago. It had been since October since they had seen Gracie or Aubrey.

So Aubrey is starting to babble a little more but is still quite a bit more quiet than Gracie was at this age. She is starting to crawl forward, she has been getting around mostly backwards for about a month now. Her hair is finally starting to come in, and it is looking like it might be blond. I will try and get some teeth pictures if I can soon, she has four teeth in on the left and only one in on the right side, so she sorta looks like a country bumpkin. That's all for now. I will post more when the girls are feeling a little better.

First Haircut

It was time for Gracie's first haircut, or I guess I should say trim. I couldn't quite chop it off. She has such pretty curls and I am afraid that if I cut them off they will be gone forever. Her mane was a bit scraggly so she needed a trim to even it out. So this past Tuesday Gracie and I had a date and she got her haircut while my color was processing during my cut and color.

Sunny Day Play Date

We decided to take advantage of the sunny weather today and got outside. We had a playdate with our good friends Kelsey, Olive and Lincoln. We walked from the Brown's house to Red Sunset park and had a great time in the warm sunshine.

It is hard to believe that three years have gone by since my little Gracie May was born. God has truly blessed us with a wonderful daughter. She is such a beautiful, loving, silly, energetic, crazy, happy little girl. We had a wonderful time celebrating with our family and friends. Here are some pictures from the day.

Gracie had the opportunity to sing this Easter at church. She sang 3 verses of Jesus Loves Me and then recited the verse Matthew 28:6.

She held onto the mic the whole time and a fight over the mic took place at the end.

This is the first year that Gracie is old enough to really take part in the early Easter festivities. We colored eggs on Thursday and went on an Easter Egg hunt today. Gracie is really looking forward to tomorrow because she is singing in the kids choir at church, gets another Easter basket and gets to eat some yummy food with family. So we finally got some professional pics done. We Did 6 month pics with Gracie so we wanted to do some with Aubrey too. Our intention was to do them closer to February 3rd, but it ended up being March 2nd instead. First Aubrey had a runny nose, then she had her 6 month shots which took her a week to recover from, then she scratched her face with her fingernail and then we had a bad photo shoot where the girls were both afraid of the male photographer. So here we are finally getting some posted. These are the raw pics from the disk without any cropping or special effects. Oh and to top it all off Gracie had a black and blue nose. She was running around in her room one day and tried to jump into her bed and slipped and hit her nose on the edge of the frame. We used a lot of cover-up and powder so it doesn't show up too much. So here they are Aubrey's almost 7 month pics and Gracie's almost 3 year pics.....

New Cousin

A couple of weeks ago Gracie and Aubrey's first girl cousin arrived. Jer's older Brother Ben and his wife Corie had their second child Jovie Annabelle. She is such a cutie, and is so tiny (yet was an 8lb baby.) It is so amazing how fast they grow up. Here are some pics from the visit.

6 Months Old

Aubrey Rae is 6 months today. The time has gone by so fast. She is growing like a weed and getting more personality everyday. She has such an overall calm temperment which is so nice when you have two kiddos. Here are some pics of our baby girl.

This one isn't the greatest pic but you can see the two bottom teeth that have popped up. Both girls got their first two at 4 1/2 months and their second tooth 2 weeks later. Exciting for them but ouchie for me.
This last pic is one of Gracie at six months. They definately have a lot of similarities but have their own look too.

I know that I promised to post Aubreys 6 months stats this Friday but we have changed her appt. to next Wednesday. Aubrey has a bit of a cold and I won't vaccinate her if she isn't healthy, so it makes it easier to just postpone it until she is well. We are also waiting to do her professional 6 month pics until she feels a little better. It is no fun when they are a little under the weather. It is even harder to get a good smile from a stranger taking pictures. We will post the stats and pics as soon as we can.

First Food

This last week we gave Aubrey her first solids. She had been eyeing our foods at mealtimes and was acting hungry, so we thought we would give it a try. We started with some rice cereal and some baby oatmeal. Here's the results:

"I am not so sure about this."

"Yucky!"

"Well OK, maybe it isn't too bad."

We are still working on the rice cereal and oatmeal and are going to introduce foods fairly slow. We did that with Gracie and so far she hasn't had any true food allergies. We are hoping that Aubrey does just as well. She has her 6 month appointment on Friday so I will post her stats then.

Our little cutie is 5 months old today. She is growing up too fast. She got her first tooth on Christmas Eve and is close to cutting her second. Besides teething she is such a happy mellow baby. She is truly such a wonderful addition to our family.

Merry Christmas from our family to yours. It was a bit crazy around the holidays this year, that is why I am blogging this a bit late. We had a great Christmas this year but it came in the form of a different present. Family photo 2009.

For Christmas this year Jer got a new knee. He tore his ACL in his right knee late this fall in a flag football game. So on December 23rd we went to the hospital and hoped he would be out in time for Christmas. He was able to come home that night. His surgery went really well and we are hoping that the recovery will go quick. Our families have been amazing helping out, but I have decided that we won't try and add a major surgery to our list of holiday events again anytime soon. The pictures that follow are of the fun times we had at Christmas.

We had my side of the family here on Christmas Eve night. We enjoyed Chinese food and opening presents. Gavin even got to join us on his lunch break.

This last Tuesday we got a little bit of surprise snow. Gracie loved it. Aubrey was asleep when we went out and played so she hasn't been able to experience it quite yet.

We made a snowman or I guess I made a snowman and Gracie watched.

On December 13th we had Aubrey dedicated at church. Most of our family was able to join us for the occasion. As parents we are called before the congregation to raise our children according to God's word. Our family and the church are to help hold us accountable to this enormous task. Four Months Old

Aubrey is already 4 months old. I can hardly believe it. She is babbling a ton, has rolled over a couple of times and is sleeping a lot better. She had her 4 month check-up and is 16lbs, 3 oz (90%), and 26 3/4 inches long (99%). She is growing like a weed and is wearing a lot of Gracie's clothes that Gracie wore at 6-9months. Crazy how two girls can be very alike and very different at the same time. We love them both sooooooo much. I will try and post comparison pics soon.

I can't believe how quickly the time has flown by and how much she has changed in 3 months. She is really developing a personality and is such a joyful addition to our family. Here are some recent pics of her.

Halloween Happenings

We had a fun busy Halloween this year. We carved our pumpkins, or should I say Jer carved the pumpkins and I scooped them out on Thursday night. Gracie was really excited, but still a bit too young to do much work. She helped me scoop some seeds out, but was more into drawing on the pumpkins. We went simple this year and made some silly faces which was a lot easier and quicker to go simple with young kids.

Roxy even got her own pumpkin. It was a white pumpkin and Jer carved a bone for her.

Gracie had a hard time deciding on her costume this year. She couldn't decide whether to be Snow White or Minnie Mouse. She changed her mind every day for awhile and then one day she pronounced "I am going to be Snow White." She was a beautiful princess.

Gracie also decided early on that Aubrey was going to be a Lady Bug. We found a cute costume for her and it was so snugly warm for the night. Gotta love those big cheeks.

Flag Football Season

So last year Jer and some guys from church joined a church flag football league. Every Saturday he has a game and we have tried to go to most to watch. Gracie likes to cheer for daddy and run around on the field with her buddies. So far the guys are undefeated and hope to make it to the finals in the playoffs. Go GBC!

So this past weekend my Mom, Sister, the girls and I got to get away to the beach. We stayed at Em's in-laws' little bungalow in Long Beach, Washington. We had fun walking the boardwalk, watching the kites at the peace kite festival, eating some yummy clam chowder, and shopping. It was nice to get away, but the company was even nicer.

We ventured out on this beautiful sunny day back to Liepold farms. This was Gracie's third trip and Aubrey's first. Jer, Roxy and I are veterns as we have gone for the past five years together. She is almost off the charts weighing in at 14lbs (95th %) and 24 inches long (90-95th%). Wow! Just to compare Gracie was 11 lbs 2 ounces and 21.5 inches long at two months. They are definately different. I am just happy they are both healthy, and they are both such a blessing from the Lord.

We went to the zoo on one of the nicer dry days with the Riegelmann's. I got some cute pics of Gracie and Daddy, but none of Aubrey or myself. You get a little preoccupied just trying to keep track of your kids that you kinda forget to take pictures, but I got a couple.

We have really been pushing the potty training with Gracie and she is doing really well. We are still struggling with going #2 on the toilet but she is trying. Anytime we go out away from the house we put a pull-up on and during nap-time and at night she wears a diaper and that is when she inevitably goes. Aubrey's 2 Week Check-up

Today we had Aubrey's 2 week baby appointment. She is a healthy growing girl measuring in at 22 inches (93rd%) in height and weighing 9 lbs, 5 oz (76th%). We all know that the height won't stay at 93rd% for long. To celebrate it being "Berry" season, we put the girls in their matching Strawberry outfits (Thanks Grammie) and let them model. This is one of the few pictures that didn't look like Gracie was trying to choke out her sister...maybe Gracie has seen one too many UFC events with Jer.

Aubrey Rae Heath decided to make an early appearence today, August 3rd 2009 at 12:24 pm. RaeAnn did an incredible job and the delivery went very smoothly. Aubrey, came in at 8 lbs, 6 oz and measuring 19 inches, besting big sister's stats of 7 lbs, 7.5 oz and 19 inches. Gracie is doing great with having Baby Lola out of mama's tummy and was very excited to hold Aubrey. She proudly told us that, "I gotta check Baby Lola's heart because I'm her nurse." All must be well because Aubrey was able to pass Gracie's strict physical. I am amazed how quickly you can fall in love with a little being that looks like a miniature 70 year old, chubby man...

Ok well maybe not...

Blue Lake Splash Park

Last Friday the three of us went to the Blue Lake splash park. Gracie loved it and Jer and I even played in it a little too. Here are some pics.

So yesterday I had another appt. and I am 3.5-4cm dilated and 50% effaced. Still making a little progress. I have been having more contractions and have a feeling she will be here soon. Can't wait to meet our baby girl!

Beach Trip 2009

We just got back from our bible study beach trip at the Riegelmann's beach house. It was a lot of fun but had a few unplanned events. We missed the Hudsons, Collins and Danielle and Pokey since they couldn't be there this year. We started the trip by doing some shopping at the outlets. We then went to the Community Center pool in Lincoln City. Jer and Gracie were have fun in the kiddie pool and I was sitting on the steps relaxing. Gracie really enjoyed the pool and is becoming a little fish. She was standing on Jer's legs as he was in a squat position and she tried to jump and slipped between his legs. Jer was holding her hands and pulled her up really quick and saved her from going under. About a minute later she was crying and would move her left arm. I looked it over and was convinced that it probably was dislocated at the elbow. So Gracie got to go to the ER for the first time. She was more upset about having to get out of the pool than she was in pain. The were able to relocate it and put her in a little sling. She was supposed to wear the sling for 24 hours but it stayed on for about 3 hours and that was the end of it. No complaints of pain since. Here are some pics from the rest of the trip. We enjoyed playing on the beach, at the park and the ladies even got away for a pedicure. The trip however ended with Gracie throwing up the night we got home and I followed suit the next day. It is really not fun having the stomach flu when you are prego...glad it is over and only lasted 24hrs.

On another note, last Monday at my doctor appt. I was 2cm dilated and 50% effaced.

Summer Water Happenings

We've been trying to enjoy the warm weather and take advantage of the water to cool off. Last week we went with Holly Riegelmann and the kids, and Emily Prodan and her kids to a splash park in Happy Valley.

Daddy and Noodle having some fun. There was a rather large mid 20 year old out there in her bikini playing with the kids, I didn't realize I could have put on my bikini big belly, and all and it would have been ok :)

On the 4 th of July, we went to the Riegelmann's for a BBQ lunch and the kids played in the kiddie pool.

That evening we went to Corbett to watch the fireworks. Our friends the Atkins, the Hudsons, Pokey and Danielle, and the Prodans were all there too. Here is Gracie playing with Isaiah Hudson before the big show while Cassius (Danielle's son) is doing a headstand.

Gracie was a little nervous about the fireworks at first, but she warmed up too them. She kept saying "Wow those are so beautiful, is it done now Mommy?"

Today I got our kiddie pool out on the patio and filled in up this morning. Gracie was so excited to get in it, she came downstairs and looked outside and said "Yippee thanks mom for my pool. Can we go swimming now?" We waited till this afternoon and the pool water was more like bath water, we actually sprayed some cold water in it to cool it down. Roxy enjoyed drinking the pool water.

Only 30 more days to go till "Lola" is here. Hopefully it will be a little less than 30 days. I am getting tired and am ready to be done. Gracie is excited and is looking forward to her arrival. We still aren't sure on a name but have a few options. We will have to wait till we see her in person to make a decision. The nursery is almost ready, and will post pics when it is finished. I am totally nesting and am probably driving Jer crazy with all the projects and cleaning, but that's what you do when you are prego right? At least we aren't moving into a new house this time. I will post more pics as they come.

This Tuesday we took a long awaited trip to the zoo. I think that the last time that we went was last July. Gracie and I went with my good friend from college Angie, and her daughter Alexis. Gracie really enjoyed seeing all of the animals and didn't want to leave. We will have to go again before baby sister comes. Here are some pics from the day.

The Last Month

Over the last month it has been a little busy, hence the lack of posting. I am pretty sure that it is only going to get busier the closer we get to "baby deuce's" arrival. Who will get to the soccer ball first?

Per my request we had to stop at the Tillamook Cheese Factory before we could head home. This was Gracie's first time there.

On the ride home Gracie had to have all of her "guys" as she calls them in her seat with her.

I will try and update more as we get more pics. The baby is growing fine and moving a ton. I passed my glucose test, but am a little anemic. I was with Gracie too so no surprise there. I am just really starting to nest and am feeling the crunch. We have a ton of projects that we need to get done before the baby comes. So please forgive me if the posts are sparse. I promise there will be some as I get the time.

So Gracie had her 2 year check up last week. She weighs 26.5 lbs which is 50%. She is 37 inches tall which is almost 75%, and her head circumference is about 115%, still off the charts. She is growing like a weed excelling developmentally. We took her to Portrait Innovations the other day and finally got some 2 year pics. These are the rough un-edited versions and we actually chose some in black and white and sepia but you'll get the idea. She is just too stinking cute.

I don't remember if I said much about Gracie and her baby sister. Almost everyday she comes over to my tummy and talks to her "baby sister." Gracie says "Hi baby sister, I big sister Gracie, I love you,"and gives my tummy a kiss. A few months ago Gracie called her sister Isabel, probably because our good friends have a baby girl named Isabel. But a few weeks ago she starting calling her "Lola." Sometimes it comes out sounding more like "Hola." The only place she has heard that name is on a cartoon called Charlie and Lola that she has seen maybe a total of three times in her life. Everyone has asked if that is what we are going to name "baby deuce" and so far the answer is no, but it might be a nickname with some staying power.
